ATA held their Senior Scholarship Reception this afternoon for the Seniors representing Abilene High Tennis, Cooper High School Tennis, Wylie High School Tennis and Abilene Christian School High School Tennis. There were 12 scholarships given in the amount of $500 each. 3 from ATA and 9 from the Kyle Williams/Sharon Wartes Scholarships. What a blessing for tennis in Abilene.
Also want to shout to Food Theorie for the wonderful food.

2023 All-Star info:
Change for 2023: After careful consideration the board has decided to implement a fee for All Stars this year. The other leagues in our district have been assessing a fee for many years and while we have been fortunate enough to hold off on this until now the time has come that we must require the fee. The fee will help to offset the costs incurred to the league to field these teams. IF selected to a team you will be required to pay the All Star fee by June 1st. Please see the All Star form for the fee specific to your players division.
Tournament Dates for each division are below:
Machine Pitch (8U) – TBD but will be held in the first two weeks of June. This will be the only tournament for this group.
-District (all divisions): Begins June 16th
-Sections (if advanced): Begins June 30th
-Texas West State (if advanced): Begins July 11th or July 14th depending on age group.
Please be advised that attendance at ALL practices and games is MANDATORY. If you have travel arrangements June 1st through the end of July, it is best not to have your child considered for All Stars.
All Star selections will be announced on Friday, May 19th via Facebook.

🚨🚨 WE HAVE A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨🚨
WE NEED YOUR HELP IF POSSIBLE…
KTAB/KRBC TV will be on site at our field this Saturday, April 1, 2023 to do a special on our Challengers Division beginning around 8:15am. They will be there until about 10 – 11am. The Challengers this year have 6 teams in 3 age groups and play 3 games on Saturday’s from 8:30am – 12:15pm. We are wanting people to help out and try to fill the stands as much as possible to cheer on this special division that Eastern offers. It will be a great deal and mean so much for them. The special news story will feature/showcase the Challenger Division and will include game footage, interviews with their Coordinators, parents, players and League President. This special group is more than deserving to be recognized and get their division featured. Some people know about this division, while many do not. We hope to focus on how it got started, it’s importance to the league, players in division and their parents and our community. We are also the only league in/around Abilene to offer this division, that is part of Little League Baseball, Inc. We hope you can help us out to help make this news special for this division that much more special since they are a big part of our great organization.

Lights are finally up so finishing touches on all the hard work can begin. That being said…..
We will be having a volunteer work day this Saturday, March 4th @ 9am and we need your help!!
The board has been working very hard on improvements the past few months but we could use all the help we can get on final touches. So please come out if you can!
Kenny’s Closet will be open again for pickup/drop off Tuesday, March 7th from 5:30-7pm! Remember all items are FREE! Get what you need, leave what you don’t!

Due to the prolonged outage of GotSport, our registration system from North Texas that allows background checks, holds safe sport results, handles scheduling, and all other aspects of league play, we have made the hard decision to delay the season by 1 week. We are posting this announcement on Facebook first because all emails are stored in the GotSport as well. As soon as the system becomes available, we will be sending this out by email also. We have been told they expect it up by Monday.
The delay of the start of the season will also push back our field work day to March 4th and our returning referee field session to March 5th.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We cannot wait to get everyone back to the pitch and playing soccer.
Thank you for your understanding and all the hard work you will put in this season for the players and their teams.

▪️ The registration process is different this year. (Google form)
▪️ There are two separate registrations – one for wee ball/tee ball and one for girls 6u-14u.
▪️ If you are registering more than one player, you will need to complete a registration for each player separately (you will have the option to select a sibling discount on additional players when completing their form).
▪️ Registration will not be accepted until the entire form is completed and payment is received.
▪️ Players new to WFSA will need to email a scanned copy (no pictures!) of their player’s birth certificate to [email protected] before registration closes.
▪️ Registration closes February 15th. Games will begin March 20th.

Signups for the Spring 2023 season are approaching fast, as we are now one (1) week away. REGISTRATIONS WILL GO LIVE ON JANUARY 1ST (ONLINE ONLY). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the league. Sign-up info will be posted in a few days and again on January 1st once registration goes live. Also, postcards with registration info will be distributed at schools within Eastern Little League boundaries (ACS, Bowie Elementary, Craig Middle School, Purcell Elementary, Stafford Elementary, Taylor Elementary, and Thomas Elementary).

There is a place in the registration where you can indicate if your player would like to be considered to play up a division. Moving up is not guaranteed as players will only be moved up based on space availability in the division above them.
If assistance is needed please direct message us on the page and a board member will get back to you as soon as they can.

Abilene Eastern LL – 

As Eastern Little League closes out Fall Ball for the 2022 season tomorrow night, the league would like to thank the coaches for volunteering their time to help coach the kids and help them get better in the division they participated in for 6 weeks this Fall Ball Season. The league cannot thank you enough. Y’alls work and dedication definitely don’t go unnoticed. A special thank you to our umpire Richard, who called games for the Advanced Kid Pitch Division. He did a great job for us and called some great games. Also a Special thank you to the volunteers who ran the concession stand, it was greatly appreciated and did fairly well for Fall Ball. And last but definitely not least, THANK YOU PARENTS for signing your child up to participate in Eastern’s Fall Ball season, no matter where your son/daughter played during the Spring season. We had nearly 120 kids sign up for 3 divisions (Advanced Coach Pitch, Beginner Kid Pitch & Advanced Kid Pitch). We truly appreciate you all and enjoyed having you all at Eastern. We hope you and your child enjoyed this Fall Ball Season. We look forward to the spring season and watching these boys grow further in their game and compete no matter where their home league is.
For those who call Eastern Home, great things are in the works for the upcoming 2023 Spring Season. Also, be on the lookout for registration dates which will be posted in the next month or two.

🚨🎃🚨 FRIGHTFEST TOURNAMENT 🚨🎃🚨
Sadly, our biggest tournament of the year, FrightFest, will need to be canceled, FOR HALLOWEEN WEEKEND, due to getting too much rain! We had a great number of teams register to play and because of that, we will be moving it to NOVEMBER 4-6TH.
** We will still have the costume contest & homerun derby! **
Please let us know if you can play, ASAP!
Better late than never (thanks to the rain)!! We are needing some more 12U teams (and all other ages welcome also) to make this tournament even better! Sign your team up!!

Coaches,
With the continuing rain this afternoon, the fields will be in an unplayable state all day tomorrow due to standing water and soft turf. Wylie has been gracious to allow us access to their fields and we do not want to damage them by playing on soft turf tomorrow once the standing water dries.
In conjunction with what we stated at the beginning of the season, we will be moving all games currently scheduled for 10/29 to the same field and time on 11/12.
We look forward to concluding our season the weekend of 11/12.

Fall 2022 Registrations Are now OPEN!! We will offer 3 divisions this fall:
Advanced Coach Pitch, League Ages 6, 7, 8- Designed for players familiar with the game, but not yet ready for “Live Arm” kid pitching.
Beginner Kid Pitch “Live Arm”, League Ages 9 & 10- Designed for players with no prior, or minimum (less than 1 year) of live arm experience.
Advanced Kid Pitch “Live Arm”, League Ages 11-12- Designed for players with prior experience with Kid pitch baseball.
1 Practice per week, 1 game per week. All practices will be held Clinic Style, per division. The goal for fall ball is Player Development and Skill Improvement! See the link below to sign up!

While we hate to not be able to accommodate those that have reached out, our little league neighbors to the north are having a season and have opened it up to everyone. Eastern Little League closes Fall Ball registrations on 9/1!
We will open up registration for our spring season towards the end of the year so please keep an eye on this page for updates!
