FIRM FOUNDATION ACADEMIES

THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS TO SUCCESS

Playing sports is like living life – the fundamental skills must be learned, practiced, and turned into habits (character) in order to truly succeed and grow! When the pressures build in a close game or in areas of our lives, our performance always falls to the level of skills that we have made our normal habits (character). Competition REVEALS our skills (character) more than it BUILDS our skills (character).

PRACTICE & TRAINING IS WHERE OUR GAME IS BUILT!!

Firm Foundation Academies provide fun, challenging, and encouraging environments where youth learn to develop the skills they need to succeed in their sports and in their lives. Firm Foundation athletes receive quality instructions, COOL T-SHIRTS, and a comprehensive handbook for them to continue their development at home with their parents and friends.

(Lee, Johnston, Bowie, Thomas, Taylor, & ACS)

Abilene Southern LLMAY UPDATE: Please note Abilene Southern Little League’s baseball season is not cancelled, just DELAYED. We are hopeful we will be given permission to restart our season sometime in late May, June or July.

Concerning refunds, unfortunately SLL is not able to give any registration refunds. We were only two weeks away from opening day when everything happened. Registration funds have already been spent on uniforms, field prep, baseballs, equipment, insurance, and all the other expenses required to get ready for baseball season. But once again, the season is NOT OVER, just delayed. We want to encourage families to stick with it. As soon as we get the green light, our kids will be back outside in the sunshine on the field with their teammates again.

Please Note: This does not mean local Little Leagues will not have a regular season, and depending on the timeline of when we can get started, there may still be postseason opportunities.  With this announcement and the Governor’s recent Orders, a timeline is starting to take shape for us on the local levels.  District 5 and your local leagues will be communicating over the next few days and expect to have a plan in place by Monday. Also Note: Questions need to go through your local leagues as each league could be a little different based on local circumstances. Stay safe, hope to see you at the ballpark soon.

Abilene Wylie LLWylie Little League Family, due to circumstances beyond our control, the 2020 Spring Season is going to be suspended thru at least May 1st. The City of Abilene is restricting the use of city parks, including no games or practices at any city owned facility. We feel confident we will play this year, and we will do everything within our power to make sure that happens! Our priority remains the safety and health of our community, but when this passes our focus will turn to getting our kids on the baseball field!

Jim Ned Little League – Jim Ned Little League Community: With the new developments that seem to be coming on an hourly basis, we have made the decision to delay our 2020 Spring Season indefinitely. We do want to stress that we have every intention of playing our entire regular season at some point this spring/summer once concerns have passed. We believe our season will provide a fun and positive environment for our participants and spectators that will help our lives return to normalcy, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Abilene Fast Pitch Softball Association – The city has shut us down, actually, all recreational activities, until May 1st. No practice & no games allowed. Please rest assured knowing that the 3 local softball league Presidents (AFSA, Wylie & North) will be meeting with the District Commissioner this coming Saturday to discuss a plan of action, come May 1st. We would hate for anyone in our softball community to be affected by COVID-19. Please be patient with us & know this is being done to keep everyone safe & virus-free.

Abilene North Softball The City of Abilene is restricting all use of City Facilities until May 1, 2020 for organized activities to reduce the risk of the spread of the COVID 19 virus. This means no practices, games, or other gathersing can take place on City fields or complexes, nor will any tournaments of any kind be allowed during this time period in City Parks. Wylie Fast Pitch Softball From the City of Abilene: No practices, games or other gatherings on city fields or complexes until May 1. We encourage you to encourage all of your kids to work at home in the coming weeks. We’re meeting with USA Softball district commissioner Saturday to try to make a plan to salvage the season. We would like to give these kids a chance to play ball, even if it means a delayed, shortened season. We’ll be in touch after that meeting. Our goal, after making sure our kids and community stay healthy, is to provide a season for everyone who wants to play.

Abilene Boys & Girls Softball Association – At this time no more registration will take place. We have been told no practices or games til May 1st. If anything changes, we will let you know but at this moment we cannot play ball. Sorry for any inconvenience but we must follow the rules.

Dear Parents, Players, Coaches, Refs:

BCSA Board had a discussion today after the local schools held their press conference, and here was the outcome. With the local schools closing indefinitely and with the Mayor saying size of meetings should be limited to 50 people or less,  we will be suspending the spring season indefinitely, with the fluid situation with COVID-19 the safety and well-being of our players, refs, coaches, parents and spectators is at our utmost importance. In the bylaws we have some time to let the situation resolve itself and may be able to complete the season before the insurance restarts. So, we are not ready to give up on the spring season just yet. We understand that a lot of you would rather be on the pitch playing but with the COVID-19 virus situation we just cannot put people at risk. We hope that we will be able to get the season played as soon as it is safe to do so, and we are allowed. The BCSA office will remain closed to walk in service during this time. Alisha and myself will answer emails and phone calls during regular office hours of Monday-Friday 9am-2pm. Thank you in advance for your patience as we work through this everchanging situation.  BCSA Board will notify you of any new information as soon as we can get back on the pitch, we will give you as much heads up as we can. BCSA board is remaining the request of no practices for teams at this time.Michael Brooks BCSA President and the BCSA Executive board
